· Synthesis, stereochemistry and conformational analysis of condensed-skeleton saturated or partially saturated 1,3-heterocycles, e.g. cycloalkane-fused oxazines, oxazinones, pyrimidinones, homoadamantane-fused heterocycles, tetrahydroisoquinolines, pyridopyrimidinones, 1,3-benzothiazines and related compounds;
· Study of ring-chain tautomerism;
· Retro Diels-Alder reactions;
· Synthetic aspects of original drug research.
