Continuous-flow chemistry for novel chemical spaces: Sustainable synthesis of heterocycles

Description:
Novel  flow chemistry-based methods will be developed for the synthesis of important heterocyclic compounds. We will employ highly reusable heterogeneous copper- and silver-based catalytic systems for various inter- and intramolecular homo- and cross-coupling reactions, oxidative couplings, cycloadditions and cyclizations. The extended parameter spaces, available in our flow systems, will open up unprecedented reaction windows for efficient chemical syntheses.

Continuous multistep reactions for the sustainable synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients

Description:
We will develop continuous-flow methodologies for the multistep synthesis of advanced pharmacutical intermediates. Following successful optimization of the individual reaction steps, we will combine multistep syntheses into telescoped flow processes and perform continuous consecutive reactions uninterrupted, without the isolation of any intermediates.

Continuous-flow oxidations in bi- and triphasic systems using molecular oxygen as green oxidant

Description:
Molecular oxygen will be employed as a green and efficient oxidant in a high-pressure flow system. Gas-liquid and gas-liquid- solid bi- and triphasic oxydations will be investigated including heterogeneous catalytic oxidative transformations. The flow reactions will eliminate most of the drawbacks of the traditional batch oxidations.
